When Bro. Jasper Paul was 19 years old (then an Engineering student) was leading a reckless lifestyle endangering himself and others. He was testing the limits of how fast his car can run and met with a terrible accident, which jolted him out of his reckless lifestyle and made him seek the purpose in his life. He found his purpose in following Jesus and obeying what Jesus said in Mathew 25:40 – “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.”
And James 1:27 – “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”.
God gave him a second chance to live. He dedicated his life to give second chances to others. He stared “The Second Chance”, an organization that rescues the destitute from the streets who are on the brink of death. Today he runs several shelter homes, housing about 150 dying destitute people, and 15 staff as caretakers. During the course of his work, he saw several deaths and he conducted their last rites himself. He says it is the duty of every follower of Jesus to selflessly serve with integrity (without any ulterior motive).
